Titanium Tracheal Support for Tracheopexy
In case of tracheomalacia, the tracheal support cartilage becomes flaccid and a long, soft stenosis can occur leading to tracheal collapse especially when increased airflow is demanded.
In cooperation with Prof. Weerda (ENT department University of Luebeck, Germany) titanium implants were developed which – due to their particular design and material – perfectly meet the requirements to the functionality of a tracheopexy implant.
NOVATECH® TTS sutured to the outside of the trachea keep the trachea open and maintain airway patency.
Corresponding to the anatomy, three sizes (19, 21, and 24 mm) are available. The matching single use sizer set which comes with each implant is used to determine easily and quickly the correct size of implant.
NOVATECH® TTS are sutured to the outside of the malacic trachea in 5 to 7 mm increments. Depending on the length of the stenosis, one or more NOVATECH® TTS are used to stent the trachea effectively.
excellently biocompatible, long-term stable, elastic, lightweight, MRI-compatible
Easy to use due to a standardized system
shorter OR time, less risk of infection, one incision only (less risk of post-operative scarring)
NOVATECH® TTS – Titanium Tracheal Support can be inserted during Thyroid surgery.
